Just as a woman's heart knows how and when to pump, her lungs to inhale, and her hand to pull back from fire, so she knows when and how to give birth.

Courtney Causey, M.A., LPC

Courtney Causey is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas.  She is a huge believer in individuals taking their mental health seriously because it benefits not only the individual but also all of those around them, particularly the family unit. Finding a counselor you trust is such a wise investment and can bear much fruit when both the counselor and the client work diligently to find freedom and solutions.

One of the areas that she specializes in is helping mothers struggling with postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety and other perinatal mood disorders. Many new moms (and dads and other family members) have no idea what it looks like to even have a perinatal mood disorder and so it often goes undetected and undiagnosed. If you have had a baby in the last year or year-and-a-half and you simply don't feel like yourself, it would be wise to get assessed and see if a perinatal mood disorder is affecting you or someone you love. This can affect any woman, but if you struggled with infertility, a traumatic pregnancy or birth, had a stressful and difficult breastfeeding journey, have a history of sexual trauma or a history of depression and anxiety, then you may be at greater risk. It is Courtney's goal to help identify and provide support and solutions to help you feel more like yourself. Marriages can also be rocked by a growing family and they often need a neutral party to help them adjust to this new season of life. Get some help, it will be so worth it!

"My heart for Blue Anchor Counseling is that it will be a comfortable, warm and safe place to get through some of life's tough moments. Hope is an anchor!"
